The series of four factsheets covered the fields of Nuclear Safeguards, Nuclear Safety &amp; Security, Strategic Trade Control of 'dual-use' items, and Non-power nuclear science applications. Run as a week-long intensive program in Amsterdam, the masterclass identifies, supports and educates new talent in the field of documentary photography, visual journalism, and visual storytelling. Just a month before the masterclass begun, the World Press Photo Foundation featured the 2019 Joop Swart Masterclass participants in a series of three articles - (1/3), (2/3), (3/3). Besides drafting the news articles, my duties included conducting interviews with the participants during the masterclass, creating graphics elements, photo coverage, and elaborating a digital communications toolkit. All the more vulnerableExploring the citizen security implications of the double crisis in the Colombian-Venezuelan border region. The Colombian-Venezuelan borderlands are in the last years witnessing new interactions between Venezuelan migrants and the multiple violent non-state groups (VNSGs) that operate in this border region. While most concern have been raised independently about the humanitarian dimension of the Venezuelan migration crisis, or the security crisis emerging from the reconfiguration of VNSGs presence in these borderlands, the convergence of the two crises has led to an unprecedent double crisis that further challenges stability in an area with some of the most critical violence and crime dynamics in Latin America. Facebook &amp; Twitter: We promoted the #JSM2019 through the participants´ photo essays by focusing on individual projects or mixes of these. Posts included short descriptions, quotes, and images, with link to full projects on WPPh website or Witness. See Facebook, see Twitter post examples. Instagram: We curated features of all #JSM2019 participants´ photo essays with insights on the topic, the storyteller and that year´s edition. During the masterclass, we also published daily IG recap stories with highlights (in-action images, impressions from participants and masters, etc.). Witness: After the masterclass, we published the (full) photo essays on Witness to further promote the participants´ work and #JSM2019. Content was sourced from projects´images, captions, and interviews carried out during the masterclass to give further context on the essays. See entries examples here, here, or&nbsp;here.&nbsp; Media Kit: We created a media kit with a selection of images from the photo essays that was shared with WPPh´s media contacts once the masterclass was finished. Digital communications toolkit for participants: We developed such tool before the masterclass to provide guidance on our social media campaign, streamline comms workflow, and better support participants’ needs. - My role Support development and implementation of communications campaign strategy for online channels, including social media and website. Draft for and post on social media, engage with communities on platforms (FB, TW, IG). Draft and publish promotional news articles for website; i.e. #JSM2019 main page, photo essays, series featuring the #JSM2019 participants - (1/3), (2/3), (3/3)- , etc. Create graphics resources for website and social media (social cards, banners, IG stories, GIFs, etc.) Conduct interviews with the participants and masters for daily coverage on social and post-masterclass full photo essays publishing. What A Waste &nbsp; S&amp;D Group in the European Parliament, 2018. Context In April 2018, the European Parliament voted four new legislative proposals on waste management. The legislative package aimed to achieve a sustainable economic and social transition towards a Circular Economy, towards zero-waste. S&amp;D Group in the European Parliament led the drafing of the four parliamentary reports for the new directives – on waste, landfill packaging, and recycling of vehicles, batteries and electronic equipment. The Group´s position envisaged that Europe should curb its endless waste practices and be smart with what´s left over, turning it into a valuable resource. Goals To raise awareness among EU citizens of the importance to move towards a zero-waste Circular Economy at EU level, leaving behind the ‘take, make, dispose’ model. To convey the new EU Circular Economy Package´s main policy developments into easy-to-understand (written and visual) content for social media channels. To amplify the S&amp;D Group´s position and proposals on the Package, that products should be designed to last and be repairable, reused, recycled, and remanufactured while fostering innovation. Approach ‘Reuse, recycle, reduce’ is really simple. So should be the campaign´s messaging and visual identity. Under the claim ´What A Waste’, simple and punchy, the campaign was based on: 1) direct messaging (short mottos), 2) clean design (white minimalism), and 3) one-object-only graphic resources (waste examples). Channels Facebook: +390k followers Instagram: +35k followers Twitter: +130k followers YouTube: +8k followers [Figures as of May 2018] Actions Facebook, Instagram &amp; Twitter: A series of posts based on the above were published over April and May 2018, before and after the European Parliament´s final vote on the legislative proposals. Different posts were tailored to and posted on the Group´s social media channels, with the five ´What A Waste’ white-background posts for Facebook being key. YouTube: Besides the series of posts, a +2mins video was promoted on social media (FB, IG, TW, YT) with more insights on Europe’s waste management reality and the Group’s position. - My role Create the online messaging and visual identity for the S&amp;D Group’s campaign ‘What a Waste’. Draft for and post on Facebook, engage with communities on the platform. Create graphic resources (images for posts) for the campaign. Support campaign´s video conceptualisation and development.
